Practice

Drawn, made,
maintained.

Architecture & design

Concept through construction documents. We design with the people who will use the space and the city that will hold it.

Construction management

Owners' representation, schedule discipline, and trade coordination. We protect the design intent through site reality.

Adaptive reuse & renovation

Older buildings that should keep working. We strip back, repair, and update — preserving fabric where it matters.

Sustainability engineering

LEED, WELL, and Passive House targets baked into design from day one. Audited and reported, not aspirational.

Project delivery

Design-bid-build, design-build, IPD. We choose the model that fits your risk appetite and stick to it.

Building stewardship

After the ribbon cuts. Predictive maintenance, finish refresh cycles, and capital planning across the building's life.

Process

How a project
moves through.

  1. 01

    Discover

Two weeks on site, in your operations, with the people who will live or work in the building. We listen before we draw.

  2. 02

    Design

Concept, schematic, design development, construction documents. Reviewed weekly. Nothing leaves the studio without your initials.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Owner's representation through construction. Site visits, trade calls, punch lists. We sign off the building and stay on for stewardship.

Selected clients

Built for the long count.

CHISEL did the renovation that two prior firms told us was impossible. The building reads as one piece now — old fabric, new bones, no seams. Two years in, nothing has moved.

Byron Robertson
Trustee, Bellweather Foundation

We brought them in for owner's rep on a difficult project. By month three the schedule was honest, the trades were aligned, and the design intent had stopped slipping. We have since hired them on two more.

Ashton Blackwell
Director of Capital Projects, Halcyon Group

The stewardship contract was the surprise. Five years of maintenance, refresh, and capital planning that has paid for itself in deferred replacement. The building feels new at year seven.

The next building

Bring us the
project no one else will.

The hardest sites, the oldest fabric, the most public conversations. That is where CHISEL works best — and where we want to hear from you first.
